Trails near the Linville Falls Visitor Center lead to the breathtaking three-tiered Linville Falls over the Linville Gorge via both strenuous and moderate hikes. The steep-walled Gorge is known as the “Grand Canyon of the Southern Appalachians.”

Linville Falls Visitor Center (MP 316.4) hosts 350,000 visitors annually. Linville Falls is probably the most famous waterfall in the Blue Ridge. The trails include four overlooks to the waterfalls, where wildflowers and foliage abound along the way. Please note that climbing on rocks or swimming in the water around Linville Falls is prohibited.
